Stephen Hammer

Biography
Stephen Hammer is the President of Mesacosa LLC, an energy and environmental policy research and business development firm based in New York City.  With 18 years of experience in the field, Hammer has provided research, regulatory, technical and project management support to several start-up firms, President George H.W. Bush’s Commission on Environmental Quality, the National Park Service, the Environmental Protection Agency, the New York City Department of Sanitation, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, leading environmental NGOs and hundreds of small and medium-sized businesses around the U.S. and the Caribbean.

Mr. Hammer is currently completing his doctoral work in Urban Planning at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where his research focuses on renewable energy policymaking in urban areas.  He holds an MPP degree from Harvard University and a BS in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning from UC Davis, and previously held a post as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Milano Graduate School of Urban and Public Affairs.
